Agreement
These terms govern use of the Guardia Civil apps and website. By using the service you agree to them. If you use Guardia Civil on behalf of a location, you confirm you are authorized to bind it.
The service
Guardia Civil lets a location pre-authorize visitors, issue signed QR passes, verify entries at its gates (online and offline), and manage the related records and safety features. Features a location sees depend on its configuration.
Accounts
Accounts are issued by invitation. Keep your credentials confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account. Notify us of any unauthorized use.
The location’s responsibilities
- As the data controller for its gates, the location must have a lawful basis to process its residents’ and visitors’ data, and provide any required notices and consents.
- The location is responsible for who it invites, the roles it grants, and the policy it sets (including what guards may see).
- The location must use the service lawfully and not to harass, unlawfully surveil, or discriminate.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service: no attempting to breach security or isolation, no probing other locations’ data, no reverse-engineering, no uploading unlawful content, and no using the service to break the law.
Trials & pilots
A trial or pilot runs for the period and scope we agree with the location, and may be changed or ended by either side on reasonable notice. Trials are provided as-is to evaluate the service.
Availability
We aim for high availability, and the gate is designed to keep verifying passes even when the internet is down. We do not, however, warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we may perform maintenance.
Data & privacy
Personal data is handled per our Privacy Policy. For data where the location is the controller, we act as its processor and process data on its documented instructions, keeping it isolated and secured.
Intellectual property
Guardia Civil — its software, design and marks — belongs to Design Muscle Inc.. You get a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service during your term. A location’s own data remains the location’s.
Fees
Any fees are as agreed with the location. Trials may be provided at no charge. We will give notice of pricing before any charges begin.
Disclaimers
The service is a tool to help control access; it does not replace a location’s own security judgment or staffing. To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for events beyond our reasonable control. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Termination
A location may stop using the service; we may suspend or end access for breach of these terms or to protect the service or others. On termination, a location may request an export of its data within a reasonable period, after which we may delete it.
Changes
We may update these terms; we will change the “last updated” date and, for material changes, notify locations. Continued use means acceptance.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, and disputes are subject to the courts of the Philippines.
